Recently, the National Credit Union Administration, along with several other federal agencies launched a new financial literacy website (mymoney.gov) and a toll-free financial literacy hotline (888.MY.MONEY.)

The new website and hotline were required under the Financial Literacy and Education Commission provisions of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions (FACT) Act, which was approved by Congress and the President last year.

The website covers topics such as budgeting and taxes, credit, financial planning, homeownership, saving and investing and retirement planning.

The toll-free hotline, 1-888-MY MONEY, provides information on how to order a free "My Money Tool Kit." This tool kit is available on the website as well. It provides information on financial education, retirement planning, questions to ask regarding investments, understanding the benefits of Social Security and insured and uninsured deposits, among other things.

The website and hotline are also available in Spanish.
