Rare, extreme weather recently devastated the southern U.S. and DCECU wants to help our members in this region in a tangible way.

We know that DCECU members in the weather-ravaged states likely were affected by this unprecedented event in a variety of ways. In this difficult moment, we are – as always – committed to responding to the financial needs of our members. We’re here to help you in any way we can.

For those impacted by the recent weather events in the southeastern and south-central U.S., we’ve introduced a pair of Disaster Relief Loan options. Details on these new Personal Loans can be found below.

If your home was damaged by the recent extreme weather, we’re here to assist in your recovery efforts by offering no-interest and low-interest Disaster Relief Loans1 for a limited time.

Who can apply?
Disaster Relief Loan eligibility is limited to existing DCECU members, with at least six months of membership, whose homes sustained damage during the February 2021 weather events in the southeastern and south-central U.S.

How do I demonstrate that my home was damaged by the extreme weather?
We ask that Disaster Relief Loan applicants provide documentation of the damage sustained. This most likely would be an estimation from your insurance company of the current repairs needed, a FEMA report of damage or an insurance report of damage.

How much can I borrow?
We are allowing up to two Disaster Relief Loans per household – one loan per level – with a maximum total of $50,000 per household.

How can I use the money?
Disaster Relief Loan funds are intended to be used for disaster-related cleanup, repair or temporary shelter expenses.

How do I apply?
You can apply for a Disaster Relief Loan – which is considered a Personal Loan – by clicking the “Apply Now” button below and selecting the option to apply for a Personal Loan. Be sure to select “Emergency” as your primary reason for applying.
