Online Banking & Mobile App security

When it comes to conducting your banking online, nothing is more important than the safety and security of both your account information and your personal information.

Here are some quick, easy steps you can take to strengthen the security of your information with DCECU Online Banking and Mobile App1:

  • Check your contact information (and update it if necessary) to make sure we can reach you. In Online Banking or the Mobile App, you can check and update your Home, Mobile and/or Work telephone numbers and your email address in the “Settings” menu. To update your mailing address or name, use the “Address Change” or “Name Change” forms in the “Forms” section.

  • Review your recently used devices (and remove those that are no longer being used regularly). Here’s how:
    • In Online Banking, click your name on the bottom left to access the popup menu, click “Settings,” click “Security,” and then scroll down to “Recently used devices.” Click “Remove” under each device you wish to remove.
    • In the Mobile App, click the three lines in the upper-left corner to open the main menu, click your name to display the popup menu, click “Settings,” click “Security,” and then click “Recently used devices.” On the list of devices, click “Remove” next to each device you wish to remove.

    Note: In both platforms, you’ll also see information regarding the device on which you’re currently signed in and when other devices were last used.

  • Set up alerts. This way, you’ll be notified when your balance falls below or over a certain threshold or when a transaction exceeds a certain dollar amount. To set up alerts in Online Banking or the Mobile App, select the preferred account in your main dashboard, select “Alert preferences,” and then select the type of alert (balance or transaction). Alerts can be delivered by text message, email or in-app message.

  • Do not reuse any old passwords that you’ve previously used for DCECU Online Banking.

  • Do not reuse any current passwords that you’re using for other websites or apps.

As a reminder, DCECU will never call, text or email you asking for your personal, account or security information. Never provide your account/member number, Social Security number, username, password or verification code to anyone who contacts you, says they are from the credit union and requests this information.
