DCECU’s Share Draft (Checking) account is an excellent value when compared to other checking services. Our Share Draft account pays dividends, which is exceptional for a checking account with no minimum balance requirement.

Share Draft (Checking)

There are no per check fees and no monthly statement fees. The share draft account also provides 6 overdraft transfers from savings per month. Attractive designer checks are available at an affordable cost, and you’ll also receive your first introductory order of checks absolutely FREE! Reorders can conveniently be made by contacting us or online with the Harland Clarke™ system.

Share Draft accounts pay quarterly dividends to our members based on the earnings of the Credit Union. DCECU’s Board of Directors determines the dividend rate paid on Share Accounts each calendar quarter. These dividends are calculated based on the daily balance and paid on the first day of the following quarter.

Opening a Share Draft Account can be initiated by calling our Member Contact Center, visiting our Account Services Department, or by completing and printing the application below.




This Share Draft Application will require original signatures of the primary and all joint accountholders listed, and will need to be returned to Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union, PO Box 1649, Midland, MI 48641-1649. Faxed applications are not acceptable. Upon receipt and verification of the properly signed Membership and Services Application, the checking account will be opened.

That’s right! Members of DCECU can reorder checks online. You can view all design layouts available before placing an order.

In order to log-in to the on-line service, you must have two things available:

  • Reorder ID - 12-digit number located on the white sheet in each box of checks.
  • Start Number - the starting check number for your next box of checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is it safe and secure to reorder checks online?
A: Harland Clarke’s site is designed with numerous safety measures to protect sensitive information, internally as well as online. Sensitive information is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. While on a secure page, such as an order form, the lock icon on the Web browser window becomes locked, rather than open (or unlocked).

Q: Where do I find my Reorder ID?
A: Each box of checks from Harland Clarke™ contains a check reorder form. This form is attached to the second to the last pad of checks in your box. It is an all white sheet with REORDER in the upper right-hand corner. You can find your 12-digit ID number in the lower right-hand portion of the form. This ID number will change with every new order of checks. If you misplace your most recent ID, call or visit the credit union to place the reorder.

Q: Can I change my address or other information online?
A: For security and fraud protection, members are not allowed to change any of their personal information online. To place a reorder with changes, contact the credit union and the next time that you want to reorder checks online your newly updated information will appear.

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: Orders may arrive within 7 to 10 business days.

Q: How will I be billed?
A: The billing remains the same as when the credit union places the order. All charges will come directly out of your checking account.

Q: How will I know that my check order was received?
A: Upon receiving the order, Harland Clarke™ will send a confirmation message to the email address entered when you placed the order.

Q: What if I need to make a change or cancel my order once I place it online?
A: Contact the credit union as soon as possible to change or cancel an order.

Q: What action do I take if I receive my order and it is incorrect?
A: Contact the credit union or if there is a toll-free customer service number on the price notification slip in your check box, you can call that number directly.

Q: What if I want to change to single checks instead of duplicates?
A: If duplicates were requested in a prior order, other options will not appear on-line. For more options, please contact the credit union.

If you’re a member in good standing, DCECU may cover checks, certain items and automatic electronic payments that overdraw your personal checking accounts up to a predetermined limit, including fees. For each check or other item that is paid, your account will be assessed a Courtesy Pay fee of $20.00. The merchant or payee will never know that you were overdrawn. DCECU will notify you by mail whenever your Courtesy Pay service has been accessed, or you may sign up for an Alert through Online Banking to receive instant notification.
