Since Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union offers enhancement options to complement our VISA Classic, VISA Gold and VISA Platinum programs, cardholders are given the opportunity to select one of two enhancements on their VISA card. Each year from January 1 through February 15, cardholders are allowed to change their VISA enhancement selection for that calendar year.
Cardholders wishing to select an alternative VISA enhancement may complete the form below and submit to DCECU by February 15. Cardholders who wish to retain their current VISA enhancement do not need to complete the form. If you wish to re-evaluate your VISA enhancement option, complete the form below if you decide to change your selection. VISA Gold Enhancement Option
For every dollar you spend using your DCECU VISA Gold card for retail purchases, you earn one point. Points can be redeemed for travel certificates or for merchandise from the TravelFree catalog. Travel certificates earn you credit towards a variety of travel-related services, including airfare, train, bus, hotel, rental car, cruises, etc. 2,500 points are the minimum needed to redeem merchandise and 5,000 points are the minimum for travel credit certificates. VISA Platinum Enhancement Option
Your DCECU VISA Platinum card can reward you for using your card! By choosing the CashBack Rewards option, you earn rebate dollars on net retail purchases made with your card. Qualifying transactions include purchases of goods and services, which exclude cash advances, balance transfers, convenience checks, ATM withdrawals, payments, adjustments, finance charges, or any other account fee.
Your CashBack Rewards rebate is based on the total dollar amount of your qualifying purchase transactions, is paid to your VISA account in January of each year and is calculated as shown in the following schedule:
$0 to $2,500= 0.25%
$2,501 to $5,000 = 0.50%
$5,001 to $7,500 = 0.75%
$7,501+ = 1.00%
For example, if you used your DCECU VISA Platinum card for $10,000 of net retail purchases during the year, your CashBack Reward would be $62.50!
$10,000 Annual Net Retail Purchases
$2,500 x 0.25% = $6.25
$2,500 x 0.50% = $12.50
$2,500 x 0.75% = $18.75
$2,500 x 1.00% = $25.00
CashBack Reward = $62.50
The maximum rebate that can be earned in any one calendar year is $500.00. There is no calculation or carry-over of any excess rebate above that amount. The rebate will not be earned or distributed if your account is delinquent or otherwise in default under the cardholder terms and conditions agreement. If we close your account because it is not in good standing, your rebate will be forfeited.

ID Theft Assistance
Provides access to counseling services at no additional cost to help resolve any ID theft issues.
The Falcon neural network, a fraud prevention/risk management tool, is currently in place for all DCECU cards. This system detects potential fraud using cardholder, transaction, and merchant data. Falcon uses a model of national fraud patterns with the individual cardholder’s pattern (which changes on a daily basis) to determine the likelihood that a transaction is fraudulent. Discrepant transactions that occur outside the typical cardholder profile may then be pursued to prevent loss. Accounts are monitored by the Falcon system 24 hours a day; however, verification calls to cardholders are made between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. only (according to the cardholder’s time zone), in order to minimize cardholder inconvenience. Cardholders who live overseas are not contacted by Falcon; instead, a report is faxed to the Credit Union.
It is possible that you may receive a phone call from Falcon concerning recent transactions on your account. Falcon representatives will never ask a member to provide their full card number unless the member needs to call back for some reason. They may ask to verify the last 4 digits of the primary member’s social security number, or mother’s maiden name, to ensure they are confirming recent transactions with the correct person. Falcon representatives will NOT talk to anyone other than the cardholder. This is for security reasons. At any time if you feel the call may be suspicious, please contact the Credit Union right away.
