Zero Liability

ID Theft Assistance

Provides access to counseling services at no additional cost to help resolve any ID theft issues.

Fraud Monitoring

The Falcon neural network, a fraud prevention/risk management tool, is currently in place for all DCECU cards. This system detects potential fraud using cardholder, transaction, and merchant data. Falcon uses a model of national fraud patterns with the individual cardholder’s pattern (which changes on a daily basis) to determine the likelihood that a transaction is fraudulent. Discrepant transactions that occur outside the typical cardholder profile may then be pursued to prevent loss. Accounts are monitored by the Falcon system 24 hours a day; however, verification calls to cardholders are made between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. only (according to the cardholder’s time zone), in order to minimize cardholder inconvenience. Cardholders who live overseas are not contacted by Falcon; instead, a report is faxed to the Credit Union.

It is possible that you may receive a phone call from Falcon concerning recent transactions on your account. Falcon representatives will never ask a member to provide their full card number unless the member needs to call back for some reason. They may ask to verify the last 4 digits of the primary member’s social security number, or mother’s maiden name, to ensure they are confirming recent transactions with the correct person. Falcon representatives will NOT talk to anyone other than the cardholder. This is for security reasons. At any time if you feel the call may be suspicious, please contact the Credit Union right away.
